Tool Lending Library

The Tool Lending Library is the first of its kind in Atchison County. It is operated by Riverbend Habitat for Humanity as an extension of the Home Preservation Program.

The Tool Lending Library is designed to help those residents who have the ability to keep their homes maintained but not the means. Riverbend Habitat for Humanity intends for this program to help fill in the gaps for those homeowners who may not have projects that qualify for the Home Preservation program but could still use some help with the upkeep of their home.

The program is also available to volunteer groups working on neighborhood projects, such as Scout Troops, church groups, and/or students.

  • How it works

    • Tools are loaned for 3 days at a time.
    • Tools are loaned based on an annual membership fee rather than a per-tool rental.
    • We operate on a sliding-scale based on income.
    • There is a $5 fee per day for tools returned late.
    • A cleaning fee of at least $20 will be assessed for tools that are returned without being cleaned properly.

  • Become a Member

Our Tool Library allows Atchison homeowners to boorow tools to repair or improve their homes. Memberships are currently available to individual homeowners. Memberships cannot be issued to landlords, renters, contractors, or individuals for trade.

The membership fee is $200/year. Discounted memberships can be as low as $25 based on income qualifications.
